7 important parameters for a Coriolis mass flow meter selection. These are the basic parameters for us to Size the Coriolis meter properly to maintain the best measurement performance across the full process flow range within acceptable pressure loss range.

1. What is the pipe size?
2. What is the density of the fluid at the working pressure/temperature?
3. What is the viscosity of the fluid?
4. What accuracy range is required?
5. What is the operating flow rate including min flow rate, normal flow rate
and max flow rate?
6. What
is the min and maximum process temperature?
7. What
is the min and maximum process pressure?

Some users don’t have
patience to implement these parameters one by one, they think providing a pipe size is enough for a quotation. But actually, the basis of good flow meter selection is a clear understanding of the requirements of the particular application. Therefore, time should be invested in fully evaluating the nature of the process fluid and of the overall installation.

Besides, detailed parameters not only help you get
accurate measurement, but also save purchasing cost. If the actual operating flow rate is at the lower limit of the corresponding mass flowmeter, we can make reducers on the flowmeter while ensuring reasonable pressure loss. For example, if the on-site pipeline is DN80, but the actual operating flow is within the flow range of the DN50 mass flowmeter, after sizing the coriolis mass flow meter, we may recommend DN50 mass flowmeter equipped with DN80 flanges, so that your on-site pipeline does not need to be reduced, meanwhile, you will save a lot.
